Announcement of Our New Tool for qPCR Primer Design: ExonSurfer

We are thrilled to share the publication of our latest work, “ExonSurfer: a web-tool to design primers at exon–exon junctions,” in BMC Genomics. This innovative tool, now freely available, simplifies qPCR primer design for a range of species including Homo sapiens, Mus musculus, Rattus norvegicus, Danio rerio, Drosophila melanogaster, Arabidopsis thaliana, and Oryza sativa.

ExonSurfer is the result of a collaborative effort that began with the original idea by Johanna M. Gostner. The tool and its accompanying Python package were developed during Elena Cristina Rusu’s PhD internship in our lab. Special thanks to our wet lab team, Lucia Parráková, Cornelia Karg, and Dorina Kernbichler, whose support was vital in validating the tool’s efficiency.

You can explore ExonSurfer here: ExonSurfer Web Tool and read the full publication here: ExonSurfer in BMC Genomics. We welcome your feedback and experiences with the tool—your input is invaluable!

Thank you for your continued support and interest in our research.
